New York State University Professor Makau Mutua now claims that National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi has made a horrible political choice by joining the Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

While likening Muturi's political value to that of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula, the distinguished professor stated that the presidential hopeful has an insignificant political capital and is of no value to Ruto's camp.

"Speaker Justin Muturi is just like Wetangula
— no one should be bothered by the INFAMOUS political company they keep. Democracy includes the right to make bad — HORRIBLE — choices. One day I will tell the country what they were up to as students at the University of Nairobi," Mutua tweeted.

Mutua's tweet has since elicited a sharp response from Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula.

The lawmaker claimed that the spokesman of the Raila Odinga Campaign Secretariat habitually denigrates leaders who do not subscribe to his political opinions.

"Some pseudo professor known as Makau Mutua has the nasty habit of denigrating others is busy pouring scornful vitriol on the bold and patriotic political step of Speaker Muturi. Soon atajua Hajui!! His insanity will come to an end on 9th August 2022," Wetangula stated in his response.
