Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria had agreed to join Azimio La Umoja Coalition before he unexpectedly joined Deputy President William Ruto's led Kenya Kwanza Alliance.

Several weeks after joining the Ruto camp, it emerged that the Chama Cha Kazi had agreed to enter into a political pact with Raila Odinga ahead of the August 9 polls.

According to Professor Makau Mutua, the outspoken MP had agreed that the former premier is the right choice for Kenya.

Mutua revealed that the two had met several weeks ago at Spice FM during the Unprovoked show during which he agreed to meet the university don to form modalities of him joining Azimio La Umoja.

Surprisingly, Kuria who is eyeing to unseat Kiambu governor James Nyoro canceled the meeting and joined Ruto's camp, a move he announced at a political rally at Thika Stadium in Kiambu County

"Several weeks ago, I ran into Moses Kuria at Spice FM's Unprovoked show, he confessed that Raila Odinga is the RIGHT CHOICE for the 5th. We agreed to meet so he could join Azimio to support Mr. Odinga. He canceled and joined UDA," Mutura posted on his Facebook account.

The professor regretted that Kuria immediately started attacking Odinga's camp from which he has been met with sharp criticism from a section of Kenyan leaders.

"Now he attacks us with vitriol," Mutua regretted.

Since declaring his political stand, Kuria has been a frontline soldier for Ruto and has been joining his political rallies across the country.
