Mudavadi recalls how he was forced to ‘toa mchango’ in Trans Nzoia
Amani National Congress Party leader Musalia Mudavadi has recounted his experience in the hands of enraged locals who held him and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka were held hostage, demanding for his contribution to the medical treatment ex-Sofapaka player Wisdom Naya.
Mudavadi claims that the group of young men accosted him and Kalonzo demanding his contribution to the medical treatment of the ailing soccer player.
"We witnessed a very shocking incident with my brother Kalonzo Musyoka when we were in Trans Nzoia. We were held hostage by a team of enraged youths demanding that we contribute to the medical kitty of an ailing ex-Sofapaka player. The player who is suffering from cancer, is not able to foot his medical bill because of the current economic state.
I'm saddened with the state of our systems that has pushed Kenyans to the point of holding leaders hostage forcefully demanding for their contributions to medical appeals. That is a sign that we are in a very bad state as a nation. If elected in 2022, me and my brother Kalonzo Musyoka will ensure we stabilize the economy and grant Kenyans access to affordable health care," he said.
Wisdom Naya has been suffering from the cancerous condition for a long time now and has been receiving contributions for his treatment abroad.
ODM leader Raila Odinga gave the footballer a contribution of Ksh 500,000 during his past visit in Trans Nzoia county. Saboti MP Caleb Amisi also contributed Ksh100,000 to the treatment of the footballer.
