Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has attacked Sports CS Amina Mohammed accusing her of overseeing the stagnation of Kamariny stadium in Elgeyo Marakwet county.

Kamariny stadium came to the fore in 2017 after Deputy President William Ruto, during the launch of the Jubilee manifesto, promised that it would be completed in six months time alongside other stadia nationwide.

Murkomen took a swipe at the State House and the Presidential Delivery Unit, that primarily improves the coordination of National Government flagship programs, monitors, evaluates and reports on and the timely fulfillment of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s key development priorities.

The Ruto-allied lawmaker stated that the two bodies have since veered off their primary roles and have instead entangled themselves in politics, giving state projects little attention.

He further stated that most government projects stalled immediately President Uhuru Kenyatta struck a political truce in 2018 with his former foe Raila Odinga.

"Madam Amina Mohammed from 2018 to date Kamariny stadium has stagnated under your watch. Meanwhile State House & PDU Delivery are busy playing politics. The story of GOK under handshake/BBI administration is that of broken promises from BIG 4 Agenda to stadiums. A laughing stock," he posted.

The voluble politician went further to accuse President Uhuru of persecuting politicians who fought for him in his maiden term of presidency and in his quest for re-election.

According to him, the Jubilee administration has alienated the Rift Valley region since the Deputy President fell out of favour with his boss.

"Very sad for a President who was elected on a platform of national unity to become so parochial especially against the people who voted for him 4 times," he added.
