Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has reached out to President Uhuru Kenyatta to allow Miguna Miguna’s return to Kenya on November 16, 2021.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairman argued that the embattled lawyer has a right to get back to the country.

"Now that Miguna Miguna has announced his homecoming on November 16, 2021, I appeal to Raila and his brother to simply allow him back home," Muthama said.

According to Muthama, politics should not allow politicians to deprive others of their rights and livelihood, hence President Kenyatta and Raila should allow the lawyer back in the country.

"Politics shouldn't allow us to deprive others of their right's and livelihood. Meanwhile, Hustlernation welcomes him back home with both hands,

Muthama's sentiments comes a month after former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga revealed that he will be flying to Canada to join the lawyer ahead of his return to the country.

The former CJ faulted the government for violating the law and multiple court orders directing the Immigration Department to restore Miguna's confiscated Kenyan passport and unconditionally allow him back into the country.

Mutunga who served as Kenya’s first Chief Justice under the 2010 Constitution said that he had decided to fly to Canada to defend the independence of the Judiciary.

On his part, the Canadian based lawyer, in an interview on a local TV station, said that Mutunga will be like his protection while on his way back to the country.

However, he said that there is a likelihood that his trip might be disrupted by the Kenyan government and that is what Mutunga would wish to prevent ahead of the much-awaited comeback.

Miguna has since asked his supporters to come out in numbers to welcome him at the Jomo Kenyatta International airport.
