Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya gave a dress down to Kakai Bissau; an aspiring governor, who works as the head of ICT and Infrastructure in the office of the Deputy President William Ruto, during a funeral service at Kiminini in Trans Nzoia County.

Natembeya, who is also eyeing the seat, challenged Kakai to stop hoodwinking voters when his goal, he says, is to always fail then bargain for government positions.

“Stop hunting for government jobs by pretending to be vying for political positions since this has become your tradition. Just hold back your ambition and I will gladly offer you a position in my government next year,” he spoke at the burial of businessman Ken Muyundo.

Bissau, who had spoken earlier had reprimanded Defense Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and former Forestry Minister Noah Wekesa for endorsing the candidature of Natembeya.

“We should not agree with a decision by a few people who have sat somewhere and decided that they know who the right leaders for this county are. The voters are wise and will make the right decision at the ballot,” he said.

The regional commissioner, however, challenged Bissau to account for what role he has played for the region in terms of development.

“The days of political conmanship are over. Tell the people of Trans Nzoia what you have done for them since you began working in a powerful position at the office of the Second-in-Command ( referring to DP Ruto),” Natembeya told Bissau.
