The Nairobi gubernatorial contest has continued to gather momentum with businessman Richard Ngatia now calling upon his main rival, Westlands MP Timothy Wanyonyi, to be his deputy.

While addressing a gathering in Nairobi, Ngatia urged Wanyonyi to consider working together with him just as President Uhuru Kenyatta is working with ODM chief Raila Odinga.

"In the spirit of togetherness championed by Azimio la Umoja I am welcoming him (Wanyonyi) to be my deputy, just the same way Uhuru and Raila are now working together,” said Ngatia.

Ngatia said once they are together as Azimio, they will be able to beat the other team contesting for the seat under the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

The gubernatorial aspirants in Azimio La Umoja include; Richard Ngatia, Tim Wanyonyi, incumbent Governor Ann Kananu and businesswoman Agnes Kagure.

The Kenya Kwanza team has Senator Johnson Sakaja and former Starehe MP Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
