Langata parliamentary aspirant Felix Odiwuor, who is popularly known as Jalango, has debunked reports that suggested that the ODM party had requested him to bow out of the parliamentary race in favour of his competitor Oscar Omoke.

Over the past few days, talk has been rife on social media that the Orange party preferred Omoke as their flagbearer in the Langata race. The reports alleged that the party was contemplating handing Omoke a direct ticket instead of subjecting aspirants to a nomination process.

While terming the reports as rumours and far-fetched, Jalango affirmed to his supporters that he is in the parliamentary race to stay.

"We are in the Langata race to the end!
9th August is the day!! Forget the rumours! No one has been denied the ticket and No one has been given!!" Jalango posted.

ODM's decision to issue direct nomination tickets in select races has been faced with opposition from party members and disgruntled aspirants. The adoption of the nomination criteria has also seen several aspirants resort to vying on independent tickets.
