Obado, wife lock horns over their support for Raila, Ruto
Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his wife Hellen are headed for a clash after declaring support for different presidential candidates.
While the outgoing governor has openly announced he supports Deputy President William Ruto, his wife has declared her support for Azimio-One Kenya flagbearer Raila Odinga.
Hellen, who is seeking the Woman Rep post as an independent candidate, has been selling Azimio agenda in her campaigns. “I do not want you to associate me with my husband’s brand of politics. Treat me as Hellen Odhiambo Odie-the woman leader,” she said.
She added: “I want to ask Migori people to look at me as Helen and see what I can do for them as the Woman Rep.”
Her main competitors are Nominated MP Denittah Ghati of ODM and Radio Broadcaster Josephine Sirega and others.
Her divergent stand in politics has caused a rift between supporters of the duo.
