Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has told principals of the One Kenya Alliance that they should not be stressed out about clinching the presidency in the 2022 general elections.

Malala advised the quartet (that comprises KANU supremo Gideon Moi, Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi) to borrow lessons from the political career of ODM party leader Raila Odinga.

According to Malala, Raila has been part and parcel of past administrations despite not being in the winning camps.

"I want to tell Mudavadi and other OKA principals not to worry if they fail in elections. Raila has taught us that it's not a must to win elections to be in government. He has been in all governments yet he has not won any elections. We will not vote Raila again," he said.

The Kakamega senator is among the politicians within the OKA outfit that have refused to cede ground for the ODM leader despite pressure from other partners.

Word has it that KANU supremo Gideon Moi and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka are receptive of Raila's proposal of a unity pact. The ANC wing of OKA however remains adamant that they will not join forces with the opposition chief.
