Busia Governor Paul Otuoma has sent packing all senior officials who served under the administration of his predecessor, Sospeter Ojaamong’.

Otuoma, who for the past week has been visiting health facilities in the county incognito to assess their state of service delivery, sent the county secretary, all county executive committee members (CECMs) and all chief officers on compulsory leave.

The affects 10 CECMs, including county secretary Nicodemus Mulaku, John Mwami (CECM Public Service Administration), Phaustine A. Barasa, (Finance and Economic Planning), Judith Maketso, (Trade, Investment, Industry and Co-operatives), Osia Mwanje, (Agriculture and Animal Resources) and George Okwara Ekirapa, (Infrastructure).

Others include Osia Mwanje, (Agriculture and Animal Resources), Grephas Opata, (Education and Vocational Training) and Janet Manyasi, (Sports, Culture and Social Services).

“I have today suspended all CECS and chief officers and appointed a task force committee to chair the 100-day Rapid Results Initiative (RRI),” Otuoma told journalists in Busia.

In their place, Otuoma appointed his deputy, Arthur Odera, to be in charge of Finance, Economic Planning and ICT; former Butula MP Michael Onyura (Public Service Management, Governance Legal Affairs and Administration); and Olago Onubi (Health, Education, Infrastructure and Social Sub-County Committee). Yet others include Patrick Sanya Odame (Agriculture, Water and Trade) and Timothy Odede (Secretariat head).
