The high number of politicians in President William Ruto’s Cabinet will help him quickly address the economic issues affecting most Kenyans, Gatundu South MP Gabriel Kagombe has said.

Kagombe insists that politicians in the Cabinet relate well to the issues affecting low-class citizenry and as such, the Cabinet Secretaries will help Ruto restore economic order in a country that is struggling to foot its financial obligations.

“The fact that the constitution demands that Cabinet Secretaries should not be Members of Parliament does not mean that people with political exposure or experience should not become CSs. Everyone in Kenya is naturally a politician,” Kagombe said on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, after meeting all departmental heads in his constituency.

The first-time MP upheld that all Kenyans are politicians by nature and defended Ruto nominees as technocrats with political experience.

“You need people who are loyal to you so that you work together. To implement his agenda, his selection of Cabinet members is on point and is guided by a lot of intelligence and experience,” Kagombe added.

Kagombe at the same took issue with opposition leaders for poking holes in Ruto’s appointees stating that there is no way he could have poached his opponents to run the government.

The legislator lauded Ruto for equally distributing the Cabinet positions to reflect the face of Kenya besides fulfilling his gender parity promises.

He specifically acclaimed the Head of State for allocating Mt Kenya most of the positions, saying that his regional balancing was on point and speaks to the number of votes he got from every region.
