A Nairobi court yesterday summoned three witnesses among them the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Permanent Secretary Jerome Ochieng.

The PS is to testify in a criminal case against former Devolution Planning Principal Secretary Peter Mangiti and former National Youth Service (NYS) boss Nelson Githinji over fraudulent payment of Sh791 million.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Micheni Wendy also issued summons for cybercrime officer, Chief Inspector David Mwasia and Moses Gitari after they failed to show up in court to testify in the case.

According to the prosecution, the three had been listed to testify in the case but failed to do so after being bonded to attend court yesterday.

The prosecutor applied for summons to be issued for the three persons to appear in court on March 7 to testify in the case.

The magistrate granted the application and warned the prosecution the court will not allow further adjournments during the next hearing date.
