Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has revealed how ODM leader Raila Odinga is, this time round, different from his other previous attempts towards becoming the country's president.

In an interview with a local TV station, Oparanya said that unlike before, this time round it's the people who want the former Prime Minister to clinch to power.

"People, from across the country, have prepared and read out resolutions during Azimio la Umoja town-hall meetings urging Raila to be the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya. So it will not be about Raila this time around, it's about the people," he said.

The county chief asserted that the upcoming grand Azimio la Umoja event which is scheduled for Friday, December 10 at Kasarani stadium, is informed by what people have told him in regional meetings.

"Many Kenyans came to Raila urging him to be the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya. He said he had to test the waters first by talking to all Kenyans and that’s why he has been traversing the country," he said.

Unlike other National Delegates Conventions (NDC) which have always been held at Safaricom Indoor Arena inside the stadium, Raila's endorsement will be hosted at the open field where more than 50, 000 Kenyans are expected to attend.
