Raila makes triumphant entry into Kasarani stadium for his Azimio la Umoja event
ODM leader Raila Odinga has made a triumphant entry into the Kasarani stadium for his Azimio La Umoja national convention.
The former premier arrived flanked by family members and his close political confidants. The ODM leader made a lap as he waved to his fans in the stadium that was full to the brim after his convoy snaked its way from his Karen residence.
The convoy had briefly stopped at Safari Park Hotel before proceeding to the venue of the much-hyped event.
Before leaving his home, the opposition chief addressed journalists saying that he has dedicated the event to his supporters.
"I'm overjoyed, we're happy to join Kenyans at the grand Azimio la Umoja convention. Today is like a big wedding ceremony and Kenyans should be happy about it. We will be calling for cohesion and unity as we reflect on our journey. This year has been so hard for us as Kenyans but we have to get over our tribulations," he said.
The opposition chief added that, during the event, he will engage Kenyans in a debate and come up with resolutions to forge forward as a unit.
