Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition leader Raila Odinga has pledged to continue keeping the government in check.

Speaking during the burial ceremony of Barrack Otieno, the bodyguard of Mama Ida Odinga, Raila asked his supporters to keep the faith assuring them that he will be active in politics for the country's benefit.

“I do not want you to give up. As you can see, I am not tired. Do I look tired? We want to bring change in this country so that the common man benefits. I don’t fight so that I get something or my wife gets something. It is a fight to improve Kenya.” he stated.

He also highlighted that he would be making 'major announcements' that will pose major results.

At the same time, the former premier alluded that he will be giving further directions to his followers within the coming days.

“Right now I am like a bird perched on a tree with a message on its chest. There are things that we are working on. At the right time, I will give you a direction that we will follow. That time is yet to come but it will come.” Raila stated.

Orengo echoes Raila

His sentiments were further echoed by Siaya Governor James Orengo who affirmed that the opposition leader is yet to reveal a version of him never seen before.

Without divulging further, the accomplished lawyer expressed optimism about Raila's motive to forge the country for development.

He further maintained that Raila's supporters should continue keeping the faith as they wait for further directions from the former prime minister.

“You better be prepared. In the coming days, you will see what type of leader Raila Odinga really is. Don’t give up. I know we are going to get where we are going as long as we keep our eyes on the ball,” Orengo stated.
