ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has torn into Deputy President William Ruto's hustler narrative saying it is full of lies.

Speaking in Kiambu where he was invited to speak about government programmes meant to empower the youths, Mucheru went bare-knuckle against the DP accusing him and his allies of misleading the youths.

The CS stated that the DP and his allies are targeting the youths with their narrative because they believe they are gullible and can easily be swayed.

"The suffering that many of our youth are going through has unfortunately made some of them easy prey for political Catalans who are promising them to heaven if they elect the these are false promises made by false prophets and we all know how it will end; in tears and frustrations," CS Mucheru noted.

"These bible waving politicians have targeted the youth because they think, wrongly, that the youth are gullible and easy to be manipulated. We must expose these snake-oil salesmen who will go to any extent to gain political power," he added

According to Mucheru, the DP is using the pulpit to hoodwink the youths so that he can get political support and, in the end, leave them in poverty.

He challenged the youths to think out of the box and focus on redeeming their fortunes.

"We have heard some people promising you analogue solutions as part of a new economic blueprint to bring you prosperity. I am a student of economics and I don’t see how the successful uplifting of our people can be carried on with outdated solutions," he added.

The CS also took a dig at churches for providing avenues for leaders to hoodwink the youths yet they are supposed to stand firm and ensure the masses are not misled, especially by politicians.

"Where have the churches been when this falsehood is being perpetuated sometimes from the pulpit by this misleader?" he posed.
