Ruto summons 5 Uhuru allied Cabinet Secretaries, top State officers for key meeting

Deputy President William Ruto has reportedly summoned five cabinet secretaries and the Council of Governors to a meeting of the Inter-governmental Budget and Economic Council.

The meeting, according to an exclusive report by the Daily Nation, will happen on November 22, 2021.

The second-in-command has invited National Treasury CS Ukuru Yattani, Education CS George Magoha, Agriculture CS Peter Munya, Transport CS James Macharia and Devolution CS Charles Keter.

Nation further reports that a section of the cabinet members are of the opinion that the meeting and its timing are not well-intentioned. They opine that the DP may use the meeting to back up his 2022 campaigns.

"The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the next full council meeting shall take place on Monday, 22nd November 2021 at the Office of the Deputy President, Karen office, at 9am," the invitation letter that was sent Ruto's Chief of Staff, Ken Osinde, read.

Also invited to the meeting is Council of Governor's chair Martin Wambora, the office of the Auditor-General Nancy Gathungu, Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang'o, Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Anne Amadi, chairperson of the Revenue Allocation Jane Kirinagai,chairperson of the County Assemblies Forum Ndegwa Wahome, Clerk of the National Assembly Michael Sialai, and the acting chairman of the Inter-governmental Relations Technical Committee John Burugu.
