United Democratic Alliance (UDA) William Ruto leader has said the party nominations exercise carried out on Thursday across the country was largely successful safe for a few isolated challenges.

Ruto said the party was able to carry out a credible exercise, thanking its National Election Board for the job "well done".

"The UDA has demonstrated that it is a national party. I want to thank and congratulate the millions of hustlers including aspirants who came out in large numbers to participate in this nomination exercise," he said during a media briefing at Hustler Centre on Thursday at 9 pm.

He added: "You brought solutions even where there were challenges. We are encouraged by your resilience. To the hustlers congratulations for choosing the leaders of your choice."

Ruto said the fuel crisis affected the transportation of ballot boxes in some areas, but finally, the crucial papers were delivered to the polling stations.

"We had to double our transport budget because delivering ballot boxes were proving to be a challenge in some areas because of the current fuel crisis in the country.

"Either way, I want to thank our transporters for doing everything humanly possible to ensure the polling materials reached the intended destinations on time," he stated.

The Deputy President also thanked the police for manning the exercise.

"Our police have been very supportive. Congratulations our police officers," he said.

The DP said the primaries that were set for tomorrow will be carried out on Tuesday.

"Our party dispute resolution committee is available from tonight. Anyone with a complaint can present as from tonight throughout the Easter holiday," he said.
