Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei now says Principal Secretary (PS) plum jobs should be offered to people who have remained aligned with President William Ruto.

Cherargei argues that Azimio la Umoja – One Kenya Coalition members should be left out of the slots since they did not support Ruto's candidature.

“On the shortlisted PSs have seen some Azimio-OKA apologists who didn't believe in H.E Ruto Presidency & insulted him, let them remain in opposition not to sabotage our God-given govt & no recycling. Loyalty to H.E Ruto must be absolute to serve govt & Kenyans,” Cherargei tweeted.

His comments came days after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said their administration will focus on rewarding loyalists before the rest of Kenyans who did not offer their support during the August 9 polls.

Gachagua was speaking during a thanksgiving service in Uasin Gishu County on Sunday, October 9.

“Some want to reap where they did not sow, those who sowed should harvest first. When we are done with all those who sowed when they harvest…those who did not sow will have whatever remains,” he said.

The shortlisted candidates released by the commission features long list of 585 individuals.

“The Commission has reviewed the number of shortlisted candidates in order to deepen inclusivity with regard to gender, the marginalized and minority groups, the youth and persons living with disability in accordance with Article 232 1 (h) of the Constitution,” the commission said.

Among the people shortlisted are at least 15 PSs and Chief Administrative Secretaries (CASs) who served in the previous administration of President Uhuru Kenyatta and a number of Ruto allies.
