The Service Party (TPS) leader Mwangi Kiunjuri yesterday urged presidential candidates to stop insulting each other and instead sell their agenda to the people.

Kiunjuri (pictured) said the candidates were setting a bad example by attacking each other in public saying their remarks could incite members of the public.

“Let them tell us what they will do instead of bad-mouthing others,” he said.

The former Laikipia East MP said all the major presidential candidates had been in the government and they had failed to deliver promises to the people.

He said there was nothing new that the candidates were promising Kenyans.

“These leaders know what has been ailing the country but they have done nothing about it,” he said.

Kiunjuri also insisted that the Mt. Kenya region has to be united to boost its bargaining power ahead of the August election.

“We need to know what we stand to gain by supporting a particular candidate in the presidential election,” he said.

The former Cabinet Secretary also urged the leaders not to fold up their political parties, saying coalitions had proven to be short-lived.

“We have seen various coalitions being formed and a few years later, the principals cannot see eye-to-eye,” he observed.
