A section of political leaders in Homa Bay county has criticised aspirants taking advantage of Azimio la Umoja rallies as campaign platforms.

Suba South MP John Mbadi and his Suba North counterpart Millie Odhiambo faulted the aspirants for taking the campaign agenda to Azimio meetings.

Mbadi said such aspirants did not mean well for ODM leader Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.

He challenged aspirants seeking various seats under Azimio to dedicate their attention to popularising Raila’s presidential bid.

“It is the democratic rights of those misguided leaders who do not seem to appreciate the bigger picture we have for the presidency,” he said.

His sentiments come following the endorsement of  Woman Rep Gladys Wanga on Sunday.

Wanga got the support from some of the Azimio brigade led by Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu, Narok Senator Ledama ole Kina and Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege

Others who drummed up support for her to succeed Governor Cyprian Awiti include MPs Ong’ondo Were (Kasipul), Ndhiwa’s Martin Owino, Mishi Mboko (Likoni) and Kabondo Kasipul’s Eve Obara.
