The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has announced that it will conduct its party primaries on April 14, 2022.

The party's national elections board announced that the nominations will be held simultaneously in Wards, constituencies and counties.

According to UDA's NEB chairman Anthony Mwaura, the party is committed to rendering a free, fair, verifiable and democratic exercise.

"Applicants are encouraged to continue preparing and popularizing their bid under the UDA party in preparation for the nominations," Mwaura said in a statement.

Mwaura, in his statement, stated that UDA will confine itself within the legal timelines set by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He reiterated that the party, which is affiliated with Deputy President William Ruto, is the largest and most popular in the country and has attracted numerous applications for nomination.

"UDA appreciates all the aspirants who have expressed their confidence in the party through their applications to vie under the party's ticket and their continuous engagement in the party activities whose effect has been to strengthen the party at the grassroots level," he added.

He made the statement on a day that saw many politicians decamp to new parties which they hope to use as vehicles to drive their political aspirations.
