United Democratic Alliance (UDA) chairman Johnston Muthama has said that the party is yet to enter any official coalition with either Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya or Musalia Mudavadi's Amani National Congress (ANC) parties.

In a press conference on Monday, January 31, Muthama said that UDA had not held any official talks with either Musalia or Wetangula.

This comes barely a week after Mudavadi and Wetangula officially made it public that they will be working with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of the next elections.

“I'm speaking in volumes that UDA is a national political party. As we speak now I assure you as the party’s chairman that we don’t have any coalition agreement signed between the political parties,” Muthama said.

According to Muthama, DP Ruto, Wetangula and Mudavadi were just working together as friends and the former Machakos Senator says they will continue working.

“When the right time of having the agreement comes we shall do so and make its details public,” Muthama said.

Muthama further asked UDA supporters to ignore media reports that allege that there is a deal in the umbrella called Kenya Kwanza.

Over the weekend, a section of the media had reported that the three parties had already marked some areas as ANC and Ford Kenya zones.

This comes just a day after UDA Secretary General Veronica Maina rubbished the reports as mere propaganda.

She said that the three parties were working together as friends.
