Uhuru joins Azimio principals for interdenominational prayers in Nairobi
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is among politicians attending the interdenominational prayers organised by the Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya coalition in Karen, Nairobi.
The Azimio leaders are set to hold a requiem mass in honor of victims of police brutality during recent protests again high taxes and cost of living.
The former Head of State drove himself to Steven Kalonzo Musyoka (SKM) Command Centre a few minutes before 11 am and was received by Azimio principals led by Raila Odinga and Kalonzo.

This is the first time Uhuru is making a public appearance since Friday, when he castigated the Kenya Kwanza administration after police officers raided his son's residence in Karen, in search of guns.
Addressing journalists outside his eldest son, Jomo Kenyatta's residence, the retired President also warned that he will not be intimidated by the move by President William Ruto's administration to withdraw security accorded to the former First Family even as he dismissed allegations of funding opposition demos.
Azimio prayers
Azimio is set to hold similar prayers in several parts of the country, especially the opposition coalition strongholds.
Kalonzo had earlier indicated that the coalition will be praying for the government to reduce the high taxes and lower the cost of living as well as intercede for law enforcement agencies to end police brutality.
“We will pray for the pharaohs in government to listen to the cries of our people about the high taxes and the rising cost of living.
"During the prayers, we will call on the international community to call Kenya’s security agencies to order,” Kalonzo said in a statement on Wednesday.
Azimio is also expected to launch a fund for the families of the victims of police brutality as well as announce the way forward regarding the anti-government protests that were suspended on Wednesday.
The coalition cancelled the anti-government protests that were scheduled for Wednesday to hold candlelight vigils in honor of those killed or injured during the protests.
Azimio leaders said at least 50 people were killed and hundreds of others injured during the demonstrations.
The opposition called for 3-day protests across the country last week to demonstrate against the high cost of living, reconstitution of the electoral commission and the raid of opposition parties by the government among other issues.
