‘Uhuru should resign from peace envoy job and come to our demonstrations’ – Babu says

Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino insists that former President Uhuru Kenyatta and President Wiliam Ruto are still playing a con game on Azimio supremo Raila Odinga.

Speaking during an interview on Saturday, February 4, 2023, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker claimed that the two are playing political games as seen in the recent theatrics and sideshows that have taken stage in the political arena.

While terming it a long-con game, the MP noted that it was impossible for anyone to employ his enemy immediately after he/she ascends to power.

“Uhuru was the first person to be employed by Ruto. The first person to be employed in this country by Ruto was who? Uhuru. Would you employ your enemy as a peacekeeper?" he said.

He noted that the only way to confirm that Uhuru did not string them along was for him to resign from the job Ruto assigned him and join them in the Anti-Ruto protests.

“If you want to see the genuineness of all this, Uhuru should resign and come to our demonstrations and be at the forefront and say tibim and tialala. That I think would be proper, but without that, we are not kids,” he added.

The latest came barely hours after Babu claimed that plans were underway to have him arrested and presented in court on trumped-up charges.

"Plans to arrest and fix trumped up charges against me is coming soon," Babu Owino tweeted.

He further stressed that he was unperturbed since it was always a pleasure for him to be a client of the Judiciary.

"Please don’t forget to add Msando’s murder, Baby Pendo’s murder and ICC witnesses' murder. I also offer to carry ICC’s crimes against humanity. It’s always a pleasure to be a client of the Judiciary," he added.
