Popular Kenyan YouTuber Kaluhi of Kaluhi's Kitchen has called out the concept of Le Dîner en Blanc (DEB) saying it does not make sense.

She commented on a post on Twitter, where the organisers were advertising the event celebrating the fifth edition of the annual all-white party.

"The concept of DEB will never make sense to (most) Kenyans. Nivea white, nijipake makeups and, carry my own food & wine, my own plates, my own kitambaa ya meza to a venue I was told an hour prior, just to eat & leave. Why is a ticket expensive if I'm bringing everything? (sic)" she wrote.

Le Dîner en Blanc is typically a posh picnic. Tickets usually retail at Sh9,000 a pair. Guests donned in white garments to a secret location bringing along their own food and cutlery.

They also offer an e-store where you could buy food as well as dinnerware from in case you don't want to carry yours, but this allegedly didn't go that smoothly the last time the event happened in Nairobi.

Last year's edition caused quite a spur of emotion online, after pictures of what served at the event surfaced online.

Media personality Kalekye Mumo even took to Twitter to vent about the event saying, "You were such a fail on the experience you promise.

I mean no instructions, no plates, stale food, no clean loos, no toilet paper aaah not worth it for so much cash. I want my refund, rubbish,” she wrote on social media.

On social media, a good number of those who attended the event demanded a refund for what they termed as a horrible experience.
Question is, will people still give them a chance this year?
