Secrets your feet hide.

Turns out, the eyes have some competition when it comes to revealing ones’ personality…

It might not be news for you that many men judge girls by how well they groom themselves. This is common.

However, there’s more. Apart from just a pretty face, some men require pretty feet as part of the package.

The first preference probably draws its origins from the fact that if your feet are not well maintained, other areas of your body and life are likely neglected as well.

This rings true for women as well. Who isn’t turned off by smelly feet and gnarled toe nails?

Joel Munene, a 31-year-old banker says; “Men are visual, they like to look at a woman’s total package, which includes her feet, of course.

We want to appreciate a woman’s beauty from head to toe, but if her feet are ugly or unkempt then it can be a big turn off.

No man wants to see bunions, callouses or corns on the feet of an otherwise attractive woman.”

There are, however, other ways to judge others, and yourself, by their feet. Throughout history, ‘chiromancy’- the art of palmistry, has been practiced across the world.

While many people have witnessed psychics forseeing the future through the crevice of a person’s palm, most are unaware that their feet are just as revealing.

Solestry, known as foot reading, is a form of divination that can depict an individual’s personality.

Foot reading has been practised in China and India for more than 5,000 years, stemming from the belief that the feet act as a mirror to the rest of the body. Is there any truth in this?

Jane Sheehan, a reflexologist and author of Let’s Read Our Feet! describes some of the aspects of the practice:

Roman foot

This is when your first three toes are equal in length with your last two toes being significantly shorter.

People with Roman feet are believed to be social butterflies and exude charisma. They tend to make great public speakers and confident business people.

Wide Feet

This foot has toes, which either have a lot of gap between all the toes, or the toes can be stretched quite far apart.

These are solid worker feet. You are always on the go and can’t sit still for a minute. Your feet are planted firmly on the ground.

You are happiest when you are busy, but should try to make time for reflection, and a little peace and calm in your life.

Stretched foot

People with this type of foot have toes that squish together to create a thin appearance.

As such, people with stretched feet tend to be secretive and can be prone to mood swings and impulsive behaviour.

Greek foot

This is when your second toe is longer than your big toe. Creative, innovative, out-of-the-box — these are the words that describes people with Greek foot.

People with this foot type also tend to be enthusiastic self-starters. Commonly found in athletes, artists, inventors and public speakers.

However, they are impulsive, and have a tendency to stress out. Their energy is infectious, and they love causing chaos just to grab eye-balls.

Peasant toes

This one has all toes of practically the same length, with the big toe maybe a tad bit longer!

Their feet appear square in shape. incredibly thoughtful, and will turn a decision over for a long time before reaching a conclusion.

Their patience, pragmatism, and honesty makes them ideal for helping to resolve conflicts and come up with diplomatic solutions.

Long narrow feet You like nothing better than to be pampered. The Chinese would say you have Princess feet that barely touch the ground.

You were born to be waited on, but spare a thought for the rest of us!

Arches

High arches are found on people who are very independent and self-sufficient. You need plenty of time on your own and might even be accused of being anti-social.

If your arches are low or average, you value the company of others, are sociable and fairly extrovert.

Little toe on its side

If your little toe is on its side with the nail facing the wall instead of the ceiling then you are unconventional, rebellious; it’s my way or the highway!]

Gap between second to third toe

If there is a gap between the top of the second and third toes, then you are keeping your emotions separate from what you are doing.

This could be because your work role requires detachment or it could be because you’re not enjoying what you are doing.
