Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha has released 2020 KCSE exam results.

Results for top 10 candidates have been announced and known to the public. Simiyu Robinson Wanjala from Muranga High School topped in the exams.

Other candidates who sat for the exams and their parents/guardians can access their results independently through charged SMS service by sending their index number and the word KCSE to 20076

Alternatively, one can also check out their results through the KNEC portal, where students can enter their exam credentials and get their result slips.

The online system might face technical hitches due to numerous requests, and one would opt for the SMS service, which is quick and easy. KNEC however advises candidates to verify SMS results with those posted on the KNEC portal.

Schools can confirm their candidate’s results by login to the portal.

Close to 751,150 candidates sat for the 2020 KCSE examinations that begun in April 21 and which involved 286,901 field officials contracted by the Kenya National Examination Council. This is the fifth national exams since the introduction of rampant measures to weed out cheating by the ministry of Education.

According to Teachers Service Commission (TSC), around 160 teachers suspected of engaging in exam malpractice have been investigated and those found guilty punished.
