The Amani National Congress (ANC) party has accused Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga of intending to hijack One Kenya Alliance (OKA).

According to ANC, Raila has been looking for ways of sabotaging OKA through the backdoor after he attended the Wiper party’s National Delegates Conference (NDC) that was held at Kasarani stadium on Thursday, November 25.

“As ANC we were very uncomfortable with Wiper inviting Raila Odinga to their NDC because we have seen every attempt by him to find his way to OKA through the back door because he knows he can't win the elections alone,” Simon Gakuru, the Secretary-General of ANC said.

In a separate statement, Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala accused Kalonzo and Kanu chairman Gideon Moi of sending mixed signals on their commitment to OKA.

“If One Kenya Alliance principals are a branch of the Raila Odinga team, then we should dissolve the formation and look for other friends," Malala told the Star.

During the NDC, Kalonzo was nominated as Wiper’s presidential candidate in the meeting attended by Musalia Mudavadi, Moses Wetangula, Charity Ngilu, and Cyrus Jirongo.

“I accept your nomination as wiper presidential candidate. I am proud to be the leader of a party that has come of age,” Kalonzo said in his acceptance speech.

“I will unify this country. My life has always been to ensure there is unity in this country.”

In his speech, Raila described Kalonzo as a reliable leader recalling their times in Kenya’s oldest party KANU.

“We have been with Kalonzo for a long time since the days of KANU. I say congratulations to Kalonzo for being nominated as the party presidential flag bearer,” Raila said.
