The Building Bridges Initiative(BBI) has brought together Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru and her political rival Interior Principal Secretary(PS) Karanja Kibicho.

The two antagonists in Kirinyaga politics were on Thursday, March 04, seen together drumming up support for the BBI.

The county boss Waiguru said the BBI will give Kirinyaga an additional Sh4 billion for development, on top of the Sh1 billion that the county currently gets.

"Kirinyaga will get an additional of Sh4 billion. Our budget for developments is less than Sh1 billion and the BBI will now bring an additional Sh4 billion. No one can be forced to support such an initiative," she said.

PS Kibicho said people should first be informed on the gains of the BBI to understand what it means for them.

Last year, the two Kirinyaga political bigwigs could not share a platform where their rivalry climaxed during Waiguru's impeachment that flopped at the Senate.

In July 2020, Waiguru wrote a letter to PS Kibicho accusing him of instigating her impeachment by the county assembly.

PS Kibicho denied Waiguru's allegation saying that he has no interest in Kirinyaga politics.
