Bungoma Jubilee MCAs have threatened to drop their Deputy Minority Leader Tony Barasa after he failed to attend their meeting where they bolted out of the impeachment of Governor Wycliffe Wangamati.

Led by Mbakalo ward rep Bethwel Mwambu, they claimed Barasa was not respecting the party which sponsored him to assembly and its decisions.

''Barasa was not working with us and we have decided to replace him'' said Mwambu.

Bungoma county assembly has 11 Jubilee MCAs and those who attended the meeting where they resolved to save Wangamati include Francis chemion[Kaptama], Sudi Busolo [South Bukusu], Bethwel Mwambu[Mbakalu] ,Vitalis Wangila[Kabula] Jane Chebet[Cheptais] , Ben Kipkut[Chesikaki], Hillary Talam[Elgon ward] ,Paul Wamalwa[Matulo], Jane Ingo.,James Chesbok and Eunice kirui.

However, Barasa insisted that nobody will dethrone him as he was still the minority deputy leader. He said he was not reading on the same page with his colleagues because Wangamati had failed in his administration especially in the employment of village administrators.

''My ward has issues with village boundaries and that is why I am not agreeing with my colleagues when it came to the impeachment of Wangamati'' said Barasa.
A spirited plan to impeach Wangamati suffered a blow after the Jubilee MCAs chickened out.
