Butere MP Tindi Mwale has ditched his party leader Musalia Mudavadi about two days after he was locked out of President Uhuru Kenyatta's State House meeting with MPs from Western Kenya.

On Thursday, January 27, Khwisero MP Christopher Aseka shared a photo on his Facebook page where he welcomed Tindi and his Lurambi counterpart Titus Khamala to Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja movement.

"I was delighted to join Kakamega County Women Representative Elsie Muhanda and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli for a political consultative meeting with Butere MP Hon.Tindi Mwale and Lurambi MP Hon. Bishop Titus Khamala. Almost all elected leaders in Kakamega County are in Azimio la Umoja Movement," Aseka said.

On Tuesday, the Butere MP was turned away from the State House meeting between President Uhuru and a section of leaders from the Luhya community.

The MP said he was informed at the gates of State House that his name was not on the list of leaders invited to the meeting.

“I was informed on Monday that the President had invited us to State House. I, therefore, left the house in time but when I reached the gate, I was told that my name was not on the list,” Tindi said.

“I was surprised because the information I had was that the meeting was for all political leaders from the Western region, including sitting MPs,” he said.
