Commonwealth eMarket platform on-boarding participants

Business women in the country have been urged to on-board the Commonwealth eMarketplace platform which has started in earnest to tap exhibitors for enhanced business experiences.

“We have 500 exhibitors from three continents and expect to expand the network to six continents. We have products and services in 45 categories and will reach out to women in business in all 47 counties in Kenya,” said Nana Wanjau Chief Operating Officer at Global Commonwealth Business Owners Network and chair CBWN-Kenya.

The move which is in alignment with the CBWN10 point plan on how to increase opportunities for women to trade internationally launched September 2019 during the 12th WAMM in Nairobi.

“The move is to implement Skill to Scale Program to enable women owned businesses grow from small to medium
to large enterprises.

Commonwealth eMarket is a platform built by women for women. an initiative of Commonwealth Businesswomen's Network Kenya (CBWN Kenya).

The eMarket is targeting 19 commonwealth countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Pacific and Caribbean and Americas. Currently the eMarket is host to 500 exhibitors from five continents.

The Commonwealth eMarket relaunched on 19th May during the inaugural Commonwealth Women Entrepreneurship Summit Leveraging Commonwealth Business Women’s Network Kenya (CBWN-K) to tap women and youth where vendors from five continents can now upload their products and services and position themselves for international trade.

“We want the Kenyan women to get on the platform to connect, collaborate and do commerce with the other 1 billion women in the Commonwealth,” she said, adding that the deal enables women to trade beyond borders and beyond the continent, within the commonwealth.
