Residents of Trans Nzoia Friday welcomed Treasury Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani’s budget proposals saying it was a simplified one unlike previous ones which contained many technical connotations.

Though some faulted lack of commitment by the CS in putting up measures of re-starting the slow economic pace, others expressed optimism that the proposed budget will help to reinvent the economy in responding to the needs of poor Kenyans.

‘’ The Sh56.6 billion  stimulus package is timely especially during what the future holds in store for us but priority need be focused on the most vulnerable persons who operate from hand to mouth even in this most difficult economic times," said Stephen Trikoi, a procurement and supply chain management consultant.

He said devolution of resources to counties should have been prioritized with a lot of emphasis on increasing manufacturing industries and creation of jobs to curb rural to urban migration.
