A Nairobi court has stopped the burial of the late Matungu MP Justus Murunga.

Principal Magistrate Agnes Ndunge Makau issued the temporary order pending the hearing of a suit filed by a woman who claims to have sired two children with the late MP.

“An order is hereby issued in the interim restraining the two defendants either by themselves, servants or agents from conducting the burial of the late Justus Murunga Makokha,” ruled the Magistrate.

Agnes Wangui Wambiri filed the suit accusing the two widows of the MP, Christabel Murunga and Grace Murunga of being in a concerted effort to deny her and her children access and participation in the burial arrangements and the actual burial event.

The woman says prior to Murunga’s death, she had spoken to him on November 12 checking up on him after being discharged from hospital.

“He sent me Sh1,300 for gas refill and later Sh4,000 as maintenance,” she says in court documents.

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, the woman claims she has known the late MP for seven years and they were blessed with two children.

“I first encountered the deceased in 2012 when he was a supervisor at Embakasi Ranching Company, and I was a business woman engaged in rendition of beverages and snacks within Sewage area, Ruai,” she says in court documents.
