A businessman accused of shooting two police officers and a waitress at Quivers club in Kasarani last year, corked his firearm and without uttering a word, fired several shots, a Nairobi court heard.

Constable Lawrence Muturi told Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu that on the material night on September 23, 2021, he was in the company of Festus Musyoka, a fellow officer.

Musyoka succumbed to injuries sustained after he was shot by Dickson Mararo.

The constable told the court that he was with the late Musyoka at the club having their drinks at around 7pm when a man came to their table and asked them why they were laughing at him.

“Your honour, we told him that we were not laughing at him but were discussing our own issues,” said the officer.

He further stated that Mararo, without provocation, removed his Ceska pistol and fired several shots injuring three people, two police officers and one lady waiter. One of the officers later died from the injuries.

Mararo has been accused of the murder of the police officer and the attempted murder of Musyoka, Lawrence Muturi and waitress Felistas Nzisa.
