Fallen Murang’a giant schools reclaim their glory in 2019 KCSE results
The once shinning stars from Murang'a County are seeking to regain their glory after years of dismal performance.
Murang'a Boys High School has emerged the best with a mean score of 9.2 up from 8.47 in 2018. The school had 13 of it's candidates score grade A plain, 53 A- (minus), and 89 B+ (plus).
Kahuhia Girls, an extra county school, got 8.5 points up from 7.9 mean score last year with 8As, 25A- and 53B+.
Kahuhia trounced Mugoiri Girls which is a national school with the latter getting a mean grade of 7.79 with two As, 17A- and 75 B+.
Naomi Njihia the school principal attributed the excellence performance to the hard work and commitment from both students and teachers.
She said they are now aiming to get to the top best schools in the country.
Njirii Boys managed 8.7 points up from 8.32 with nine of its candidates getting an A grade 41A- and 71 B+.
In the private schools category, Pioneer Boys put their best foot forward by getting a mean score of 8.7 up from 8.43 in 2018.
Their counterpart Pioneer Girls in Gatanga attained a mean score of 7.9 with two students scoring grade A and 13 A-.
Elsewhere Karega Secondary School emerged the top best day school in the county for the first time producing an A- grade. Some 13 other candidates attained B+ and 24 B-.
Karega got a mean score of 6.6 points up from 5.61 last year.
Mukangu Secondary, a day school, came in second in this category with a mean of 5.6 points. The school also produced a A- grade and one B+.
Some 41 candidates managed get a mean grade of C+ and above.
