Equity, Jambojet make key appointments in regional growth push
Equity Group has appointed Jonas Mushosho as a non-executive director to its board replacing Christopher Newson who has retired.
The group’s board chair Isaac Macharia said through his wealth of experience, Mushosho will help the lender strengthen its regional subsidiaries.
“He brings a wealth of broad executive leadership experience in leading strategy implementation in a multi-national environment, which will be key as we seek to strengthen our regional subsidiaries,” he said.
Jonas has previously served in senior leadership positions in both the private and public sectors, having served as Old Mutual Zimbabwe Limited CEO between 2012 and 2019.
He also doubled up as Old Mutual Rest of Africa MD, where he was responsible for strategy implementation, stakeholder management, investment performance management, governance and compliance and functional effectiveness of the Old Mutual Business in 12 countries in the continent.
He is currently a director at Brooks and Oracle, a council member at Zimbabwe Open University and serves as a non-executive director at Delta Corporation.
He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science from University of South Africa, Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and an MBA from the University of Zimbabwe.
In addition, he has postgraduate qualifications from the University of Cape town, Graduate School of Business, London Business School and Harvard Business School, and a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Meanwhile, Karanja Ndegwa has also been confirmed by the Jambojet’s Board of Directors as the airline’s managing director and CEO effective immediately.
Ndegwa has been acting since April 2020, and was previously the Chief Financial Officer of the airline.
Ndegwa is a graduate of Economics and Statistics from the University of Nairobi as well as a Certified Public Accountant.
He has a wealth of experience in financial planning and reporting, airline business/commercial strategy, capacity building, strategic management and revenue management.
