Harambee Stars defender Erick Ouma is set for another period on the sidelines after sustaining an injury while playing for Raków Częstochowa against Zagłębie Lubin in a Polish League match.

Ouma was forced to leave the field in the 29th minute during Wednesday's game, which his team lost 2-0.

Erick Ouma's muscle

Following medical tests, it was revealed that he tore his semimembranosus muscle, sidelining him for the remainder of the season with three matches remaining.

"The match against Zagłębie Lubin also ended with an injury for Erick Otieno, who left the field in the 29th minute. Tests showed that our player has a torn semimembranosus muscle. Unfortunately, we won't see Erick on the field for the rest of this season," the club said in a statement.

This setback occurs just 38 days after Ouma recovered from a hamstring injury sustained during a goalless draw against Stal Mielec, which had forced him to miss the March international friendlies with the Harambee Stars.

The severity of his new injury became evident after he was substituted off during match 25, prompting further tests.

Raków Częstochowa confirmed the extent of the injury, stating that Ouma had torn his hamstring muscle, initially expecting him to be out for three to four weeks.

This injury also prevented Ouma from joining the Harambee Stars' camp for the Four Nations Tournament, where the national team triumphed by defeating Zimbabwe and Malawi.

Meanwhile, the club provided updates on other injured players. Efforts are underway to ensure Fran Tudor is ready for the second-to-last game of the season after he left the field in the last match with a slight muscle pain.

"Fran Tudor left the field in the last league match against Zagłębie Lubin with a slight muscle pain. Efforts are underway to get the Croatian back for the game against Cracovia," the club announced.

Regarding Górnik Zabrze's loanee Szymon Czyż, the club confirmed that he sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament and a ruptured meniscus in the Friday match against Cracovia.

The 22-year-old midfielder is set for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery with Dr. Jacek Jaroszewski, followed by several months of rehabilitation.
