Here is what you need to know to get up to speed with today's happenings.

Magical Kenya Open Day 4

The Magical Kenya Open (MKO) enters Day 4 on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

Manuel Elvira and Darius van Driel will both go in search of a maiden DP World Tour victory when they head into the final round sharing the lead.

At the close of the third round on Saturday, there was a three-way tie in third place with Ryan Van Velzen, Joe Dean and Connor Syme all finishing on -8 par (205).

At least five players were tied in sixth place on day three of action on a score of -7 under par (206).

Closure of Kenyatta Avenue

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a temporary closure of Kenyatta Avenue at the Uhuru Highway roundabout.

The section will be closed from Friday, February 23, 2024, at 11.00 pm to Sunday, February 25, 2024, at midnight.

KeNHA directed all motorists accessing Uhuru Highway from Kenyatta Avenue to use alternative routes such as University Way, Utalii Street, Market Street, Posta Road, City Hall Way, Harambee Avenue and Haile Selassie Avenue.

On Thursday, the authority announced a temporary closure of a section of Lang’ata Road scheduled for Saturday, February 24, 2024, and Sunday, February 25, 2024.

In a notice, KeNHA said the road will be closed between the T-Mall roundabout and the Madaraka Roundabout from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Power outage

Kenya Power has issued a notice informing Kenyans of the scheduled power blackout in select parts of the country on Sunday, February 25, 2024.

The utility firm noted that the Sunday power interruption will affect at least two counties - Nairobi and Kilifi.

Parts of Nairobi will experience a power blackout from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. The affected areas include Ngumba, Thome and Roysambu.

Others are; KBL, Baptist Mission, Indigo Garments, Ngumba, GSU HQtrs, Drive-Inn Est, ICIPE HQtrs, KENHA, Whole of Kasarani, Clay City Est, Warren, Central Glass, Sietco, Githurai Stage 44, Zimmerman Est, Mirema Drive, Wankan Academy, Whole of Githurai 45, Whole of Githurai Kimbo, Lumumba Drive, Roysambu, Safari Park Hotel, Mountain View Roysambu, USIU, Ruaraka Printing Press, Thika Rd Baptist Church, Ruaraka Housing Est, NIM Ltd, Andela Kenya Ltd, Thome, Mirema Rd, Whole of Zimmerman, Kahawa Barracks, TRM and adjacent customers.

Kenya Power further noted that parts of Mombasa Road will also be affected by the scheduled interruption including KTN Offices on Mombasa Road, CBA Mutuya Properties, Tulip House and adjacent customers

In Kilifi County, a power blackout will run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Affected areas include; Pinglikani, Mbogholo, Makata, Pinglikani, Ndindiri and adjacent customers.
