Former Dagoretti South Member of Parliament (MP) Dennis Waweru, last distributed masks, sanitizers, and foodstuff to more than 4000 families in his constituency.

Donations were done in all the five wards within the constituency including Riruta, Uthiru, Mutuini, Waithaka and Ngando.

Speaking to PD Online he said: "The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone and its only right to offer a helping hand especially to those that have been greatly affected."

Residents broke into song and dance as the former MP team started offloading sanitizers, face masks, and foodstuffs.
Prior to the distribution he also conducted door to door distribution to the elderly.

The residents expressed gratitude to the former lawmaker for the rations seeing they had missed several meals due to lack of food.

"God bless Dennis I have note taken food since yesterday and I was wondering what tell my three children," said Jane Kamau from Uthiru.

"Many of us are struggling to put food on the table I'm happy Dennis has remembered us thank you, Dennis(sic)," said George Onyango from Ngando Ward.

Mr. Waweru said the food donation was not political. He emphasized he was not seeking votes but was out to help the needy especially at this time of the pandemic.

“I am here to unite Kenyans. Let us not allow the pandemic to divide us,” he said.

This was the second phase of the distribution program.
