Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula yesterday denied reports linking club coach Nicholas Muyoti with Wazito FC.

Speaking in Kakamega town  Shimanyula said Muyoti is still with the team and he has not received any communication regarding his departure. Wazito fired their entire technical bench under head coach Fred Ambani on Monday.

“As a club, we are perplexed with what is appearing in the media. If he has made such an arrangement then we shall not stand in his way and we are prepared to get a good replacement,” said Shimanyula.

The Homeboyz chief also revealed he already has a lot of applications from experienced and highly qualified coaches nationally and from the region even though Muyoti’s departure has not been announced.

“I believe he introduced philosophy to the players and it is working well. He has endeared himself to the players and we expect him to continue for consistency of the club.

“It’s normally good to get a coach before the transfer window closes so that he can identify the right players that suit his system and I feel he will stick with us and help in accomplishing what he started last season where we nearly won the league,” added Shimanyula.

Reached for comment, Muyoti revealed that he is mourning his father who died last week and he will make a decision shortly after the burial.

Former Bandari tactician Benard Mwalala is in pole position to replace Muyoti.
