I don’t participate in politics to win elections – David Ndii
Economist David Ndii now says he does not engage in politics to win elections.
When replying to a distrauted Twitter user who accused him of always choosing a "losing" coalition, Ndii said he participates in politics to advance democracy.
The Twitter user @Commander wrote: "Your team has never won election. Could it be that you are the black sheep or just being in a wrong team?"
In his response, Ndii said as long as democracy survives, he is okay.
"For the umpteenth time, I don’t participate in politics to win elections, I do it to advance democracy.
"Democracy guarantees my personal freedoms. Every election democracy survives, I am a winner.
"Amazing how a country of sports fans fails to see this basic self-evident fact," he wrote.
The economist was part of ODM leader Raila Odinga's advisers in 2017 before decamping to William Ruto's camp in 2018 after the handshake.
