Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli now says he has acquired a Ksh5 million machine that will listen to conversations of people planning to disrupt his Bukhungu II rally on Friday.

Atwoli, who spoke when he inspected Bukhungu Stadium where the rally will be held, warned those who are planning to cause violence during the event.

"No meeting will be held in Western Kenya that day. I have just bought a Ksh5 million machine to detect all those who are planning to disrupt the meeting," Atwoli said.

Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, while speaking during the Maragoli Cultural festivals event in Mbale on Monday, said he will not allow the Bukhungu Stadium to take place.

Atwoli has declared that the Bukhungu II political rally is meant to support Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja movement and to endorse him as the preferred presidential candidate by the Luhya community.

Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford-Kenya's Moses Wetangula have already said they will not attend the rally.

"Atwoli says he is a Luhya kingpin yet he has never been elected by the people. He tried to vie for a parliamentary seat in Khwisero and did not get even 2000 votes," Wetangula said.
