Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga has denied ever saying he had only “one bullet” in reference to running for the last time in 2017 presidential election.

Raila, who spoke to a local radio station on Thursday, said he was eligible to run for presidency again without declaring he will be in the contest next year.

Nani hao wameeneza habari za sijui risasi moja ilhali niko na magazine. Risasi haibebwi kwa juala lakini ndani ya magazine. Niko na Magazine. (Who is that saying I have only one bullet. I have never said I have only one bullet. In fact, I have a full magazine),” he said.

Raila dismissed claims that he was banking on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s support.

“I am not looking for an endorsement from anyone. I don’t depend on endorsements in my life. My whole political career has been about service to the people, not endorsements.

“We went hunting and came back empty-handed. What is there to be divided? Which benefit has ODM got from the past election? The party is still the way it was, just poor as other parties,” he said.

He added: “I will be looking for votes from President Uhuru and others if I decide to vie for the Presidency. I will not be looking for endorsements.”

On BBI debate, Raila expressed confidence that the country still has a chance to hold a referendum

“There is still time for a referendum. We have a year to elections. It can be done even if it gets to December…nothing stops us from doing so,” the ODM leader said.
