IEBC gazettes list of Jubilee, UDA aspirants for Kiambaa, Muguga by-elections

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairperson Wafula Chebukati has gazetted a list of Jubilee and UDA party aspirants for Kiambaa Constituency and Muguga Ward by-elections.

In the notice dated May 11th, seven aspirants were listed as seeking the Jubilee party ticket for Kiambaa by-elections.

The seven include Josphat Kamanya, Karanja Kariri, June Wanjugu Koinange, Lennah Catherine Koinange, Damaris Wambui, Eric Mutura and Charles Munyui.

10 aspirants seeking Jubilee party ticket were listed for Muguga Ward by-elections.

The 10 include Joyce Wanja, Francis Mahiga, Francis Waithaka, Joseph Githinji, Jacob Mungai, James Mwaura, Joseph Gacheru, Francis Njuguna, Wilfred Thuku and Andrew Muragami.

UDA party attracted seven aspirants for Muguga ward mini-polls.

The seven are, James Kinyati, Boniface Muhoro, James Njoroge, Alice Wangui, Peter Kamau, Paul Karari and Colnerious Macharia.

The IEBC Chair also gazetted four independent candidatea for the Kiambaa seat

The four are Njoroge Harrison, David Mugo, Joseph Kimani and Willie Mbugua.

Kiambaa and Muguga by-elections will be held on July 15th.

The two seats fell vacant after the former officeholders died.

The immediate Kiambaa MP Paul Koinange died on 31st March. The former Muguga MCA Eliud Ngugi died on March 16th.

The two legistlators succumbed to Covid-19.
