The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday, March 11, appointed three new directors including Michael Ouma who is now the Director Information Communication and Technology (ICT), a position held by Chris Msando before his demise in 2017.

Others who were appointed are Ruth Kulundu (Deputy Commission Secretary - Operations) and Chrispine Otieno (Legal Services)

The trio’s appointment comes just days after Hussein Marjan was appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

“Interviews for the shortlisted applicants were conducted on the 9th and 10th of March 2022 and the applicants emerged as the most qualified and suitable for the positions,” the statement read and further congratulated the three for landing the jobs.

Their appointment comes barely a month after the National Assembly Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs committee raised queries over the fate of officials who have been serving in an acting capacity.

Members of the committee led by Ruaraka MP TJ Kajuang wondered why the four officials were still in an acting capacity yet it was five months to the general election.
