The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) says it will take action against one of its officers who has another State job.

The commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati said Ms Tabitha Mueni, an officer stationed at IEBC is also employed by the Media Council of Kenya(MCK), another government body.

"The commission acknowledges Ms Tabitha Mutemi as an employee of IEBC, However, the Commission was neither consulted nor notified of Ms Mutemi's employment as a Board Member of the Media Council of Kenya," Mr. Chebukati wrote to MCK Chairman Maina Muiruri on Monday.

Mr. Chebukati said his commission will take action against the staff member in accordance with the IEBC act.

The Constitution of Kenya in Chapter six, bars full time State officers from engaging more than one gainful employment.
