Jeremiah Kioni has rubbished claims of his suspension as the Jubilee Party Secretary General.

Kioni asked Azimio supporters to disregard resolutions made by the faction of Jubilee MPs who have since shifted allegiance to the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Speaking at an anti-government rally in Machakos, he maintained that he is the reigning Secretary General of the opposition outfit and that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is firmly rooted in Azimio.

"Kule Nakuru naskia wengine wamekutana wachache, wakiongozwa na wale ambao walienda StateHouse juzi, na kusema ya kwamba Jubilee inaamua kutoka Azimio.

"Iyo ni jambo la uongo. Mimi niko apa kama Secretary General wa Jubilee. Jubilee itakuwa Azimio mpaka mwisho. Uhuru Kenyatta atakuwa Azimio mpaka mwisho," he said.

Kioni's remarks came hours after a section of Jubilee lawmakers announced his dismissal as the party's Secretary General.

While announcing the dismissal of the former Ndaragwa MP, Jubilee Party Chairman Nelson Dzuya also noted that the party's NEC had suspended vice-chairperson David Murathe and Treasurer Kagwe Gichohi.

The party's top brass announced that EALA MP Kanini Kega will take over as the acting Secretary General.

has confirmed receipt of petitions to commence disciplinary action against nominated MP Sabina Chege, Eldas MP Adan Keynan and EALA MP Kanini Kega.

In a post shared on the Jubilee party's social media platforms, the besieged ex-legislator stated that the petitions against the trio have been forwarded to the Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee for action.

The three lawmakers who led over 30 Jubilee MPs in a meeting with President William Ruto and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua have been accused by the petitioner of; acting in a manner disloyal to Jubilee Party, advancing positions that are contrary to the position of Jubilee Party, demonstrating lack of respect to the decision made by Jubilee Party and demonstrating lack of respect for Jubilee Party organs.

Kioni's statement comes hours after the faction that avowed support to President William Ruto announced his dismissal as the outfit's Secretary General.
